Milton Massie

Agape Community Center
Chicago, Illinois

BIO-SKETCH:   Milton Massie and his wife Cynthia have two children; Zachary (18) and Sarah (14). Their mission work is an inner-city ministry for youth and adults at the Agape Community Center in the Roseland community in Chicago. The Agape Community Center has been serving the Roseland community since 1979

THE WORK:   The Agape Center exists to serve and mobilize the church to live out God’s heart for the poor and to help fulfill the Great Commission. They do this by offering various after school programs for youth, adult Bible studies, and volunteering in the neighborhood schools.

The Agape Center empowers other inner-city ministries and churches by providing resources, training and manpower to assist them in the ministry they do in their respective communities.

God works in the lives of people like Felix Meeks. Felix came to the center in 1990 at the age of 12 and was involved in a Bible study and basketball, but the call of the “streets” pulled him into gangs, drugs, etc. Later, some major events in his life got his attention and he saw he was headed in the wrong direction. Felix remembered what he learned at the Agape Center and he turned his life around and now gives back to the community running a weekly Bible study.
