BIO-SKETCH: Dr. David Schuringa serves as the president of Crossroad Bible Institute. He, along with the CBI Board of Directors, provides the leadership for this vital church-based ministry in the largest mission field in North America: our prisons and jails. He and his wife, Mary, have four married children.

THE WORK: Crossroad Bible Institute disciples people in prison with the Word of God, free of charge, wherever they are incarcerated. It is a personal, in-depth and long-term program that is uniquely designed to help men and women behind bars grow dramatically in a life-transforming relationship with Jesus Christ, preparing them for a successful reentry upon release.

CBI partners with 4,700 dedicated volunteer Instructors who correct student lessons and write students personal letters of encouragement through safe and secure mail correspondence. Instructors come from various walks of life, but have one factor in common: they love the Lord and want to share their faith in a meaningful way.

The Crossroad program is national in scope. It is used in every state in the U.S. and has courses available in both English and Spanish. Moreover, its program is well-established in Canada, Australia, Colombia and New Zealand where local volunteers, administrators and churches carry the program in their respective regions.
