“After more than a year of cramped living in a FEMA
trailer….with her two teenage daughters, Pamela Bolar finally
opened the door of her brand-new home."
~ Hattiesburg American

“Words cannot express the way I’m feeling, said Bolar with her
daughters Kaneshia 16 and Charlene 18, flanked by the dozens of
volunteers who made the homecoming possible.”

Sunday School's contribution |
“You have many opportunities each day to
build for God. Each day there are innumerable opportunities to
do His work. The greatest work you can do for God is to be His
humble child. In being His humble child, you will see and
respond to the needs of those around you. The more of Christ you
keep in your heart, the more of His work you will be able to do
with your hands.”
The above paragraph was something I found in a devotional online
before heading to Hattiesburg, Mississippi for the 3rd week of
this project. It seemed fitting to insert it. Most individuals
involved have been so blessed by the time they have spent in
Hattiesburg. As a church of volunteers, we have made a large
impact on that community as we served showing God’s love by
serving others. Our actions speaking louder than words in a way
in which not only the CRWRC and R3SM (Recover, Rebuild, Restore
Southeast Mississippi) were amazed at our speed and efficiency
in accomplishing our work, but that all our volunteers had a
servant’s heart.
The volunteers worked so quickly that some of the tasks
scheduled for the following week’s group were already finished.
One of the tasks was the siding on the house. Since this was
already done the final group found another location in Wiggins
to replace the siding. A portion of the 3rd week group spent
four days at this house to redo the siding of the whole house
along with some roofing fixes seen during the re-siding project.
It wasn’t just the 48 willing volunteers from our church who
went to Hattiesburg for this three-week project who were
involved. There were also the Sunday School children whose
collections raised enough money to purchase kitchen items to
fill those brand new kitchen cabinets and a handmade tie-blanket
for each one of them.
Through many months of prayer and the many volunteers and
organizations, this project has been completed and there is a
new beginning for one family and community. This “Miracle House”
couldn’t have happened if many didn’t feel God’s calling in
their hearts and willingly be a reflection of Christ. PRAISE
GOD!
